The Just Good Friends Team

Hi, my name's Angie and I've been a member of Just Good Friends for a very enjoyable 5 years.

I found my social life had almost totally diminished after divorce, I had a lot of friends but they were all couples. JGF gave me the opportunity to enjoy my free time once again and make some
fabulous friends along the way.

Some of the activities I've been on include two holidays, many parties and meals, gone dolphin watching on a sea safari, walked my feet around miles of countryside, made a fool of myself quad-biking, got covered in mud during laser combat and many more wonderful memories which wouldn't have been half
as much fun on my own.

As part of the team I'm responsible for arranging diary events and looking for new and interesting activities for our members.

Hi I'm Helen, I moved down here six years ago after my marriage break up. I started work immediately and, although everyone was very friendly, they were half my age so there wasn't going to be much chance of socialising on a regular basis. My sister had moved down here some time ago and had her own circle of friends and I didn't want to rely on her for my social life. I wasn't ready to start dating and was just looking for a social group to join and make friends. I wanted to get to know like-minded people who wanted to go out and have fun. Luckily, I saw an advert for Just Good Friends in a local free magazine which prompted me join; and I haven't looked back since.

Through JGF I've made lots of friends. We go out when we feel like it with no pressure. We even go on holiday! I particularly enjoy live music and dancing and the events diary is so varied that there is always plenty to choose from.

I remember my first two events very well and how nerve wracking they were but, once you get to know a few faces, it becomes less daunting and much more fun. So much so that I am now jointly responsible for co-ordinating the diary and I have promoted the group by doing some radio interviews and placing some of our adverts in the local press.

Hi! I'm Margaret; I became a member of Just Good Friends five years ago. As a widow I needed somewhere to go, with people I felt comfortable around, and to be able to do a range of events and interests I was not able to do on my own.

As you see, I am still here making friends and enjoying a wide range of events!

I am now responsible for new member recruiting and conducting one-on-one interviews which, I must add, are very informal.

Hope to see you soon.
